Many new parents find themselves wondering when their child's first dental appointment should be. The answer is that earlier is almost always better! STARTING YOUNG SETS CHILDREN UP FOR A LIFETIME OF GOOD ORAL HEALTH

Taking children to the dentist early is crucial to establishing a good oral care habit for your kids. The earlier you start, the better your child's relationship with the dentist will be, and the less chance you have of melt downs when a frightened preschooler is in the dental chair for the first time.

Babies should be seen by the dentist when their teeth first start to appear, which will happen any time between four and seven months for most babies. At your child's first dental appointment, we will discuss good oral care for babies, including steps to take to avoid baby bottle tooth decay, and cavity prevention for the early years.

DENTAL CARE THROUGHOUT CHILDHOOD

As your child gets older, we will work to develop a strong relationship with him to make trips to the dentist exciting and fun. Over time, children may need more procedures, such a sealants, and will need to have routine cleanings, fluoride treatment and x-rays. At times these procedures may be frightening, but Clearwater Family & Sedation Dentistry is committed to keeping your child comfortable. To our patient's children, dentist appointments are not something to be feared.

We are also available for emergencies, which are inevitable with children.
